Before anyone says it, I will (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/thisthreadisworthlesswithoutpics.gif)

Ok with that being said I have access to a 74 911 targa in not so good shape. No crash damage just major rust issues and its been sitting for almost 6 years in a shed. The engine cranks by hand but hasn't ran since being stored. I'm really interested in this car for the front suspension, fuchs and well yes the engine also. The owner is asking... ready for this...... $5k for it (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) Now if it was a running car I could see that but I'm thinking more like $2 - 3k ish.

Please remeber this is Northwest Indiana, NOT CA were rust free Porsches fall from the sky (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) So with out seeing it in person would this car be a $3k car? I will get some pics next week when I can get back over to look at it better.

QUOTE (J P Stein @ May 14 2005, 06:30 AM)
A 74 2.7 from the midwest is unlikely to have pulled studs, however everything on theses cars rust/oxidize. Any rust bucket is a crap shoot and there may not be ANY parts below the belt line worth saving.

I assume that you are going to want to use your new found power for AX. A smart thing to do (this is the voice of hard experience talkin') is to build to class. All this time, I coulda been running SM2. The more I look at "the book" the better it seems for Porsche hotrods.....too late for me.
Pick your motor.

Had I the chance to do it again, I'd go with a 3.0/3.2L street monster....hot rodded, of course.

Yep, it will put me in SM2 until then I run DSP (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/burnout.gif)
