Here is what I have / know:
- '72 w/ '75 2.0 motor w/ Webers - couple months ago, intermittent problem not starting...turn key, no click, nothing -- wait a few min, start right up. - got starter rebuilt, worked like a champ for about a week. Then started doing same thing except, I got "click" - took starter back to dude who rebuilt, had him check it out...says its fine. -- says I need at least 10v to fully activate solenoid - battery is at 12.4v, terminals 12.4v - main cable to starter getting 12.4v (unloaded) - when starter switch activated, terminal lead to solenoid only getting ~8.3v...WTF? - thought maybe the ign switch bad, ordered and replaced. no change...aaarrrghhh! - obviously there is some voltage drop between switch and solenoid? What am i missing? Very frustrating...I need HELP!...I am tired of rolling down my driveway to start. BH |
