I recently returned from 9 day road trip all over New Mexico and didnt see much excitment in terms of bad drivers there. I too do a lot of travel and would say bad driving is more of a city by city or road by road issue than state by state. I think HWY 880 between Fremont and Oakland in California has the highest number of dumb as$ drivers per 100 cars on the road (seems to have more than its fair share of the "fast and furious nuts" mixed with fast moving "24 inch wheel crowd"). Some places in Dallas Texas have consistently impressed me as a place full of bad drivers (think I'll never forget being passed by a van running on rims showering sparks everywhere! ...no cops chasing them) I think Los Angeles gets a bad rap for bad drivers. I have commuted all over LA basin and on the whole drivers there are aggressive, but typically pretty good at staying with the flow of traffic. |
