Just put them on today and took a cruise. These are last year's so if new ones are even better, get some.
Really is a race tire for the street. Not quite as sticky as the Proxes (40 treadwear) track tires I had, but a lot smoother. Buzzy at Hiway speeds, but just the ticket for canyon carving, and 205/50's really suit the gearing of my stock 2.0 FI. 2nd gear starts and Mulholland becomes a a 2 gear road, 3rd and 4th. I may even pay Lagunero for them (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |

Given that tires all run at differnt optimum pressures how did they figure out what optimum pressures to run for each tire? I havent read the GRM article but I have found a lot of their test techniques to be fairly subjective and opinion based. Yokohama's really hook up at pressures under 30 psi. I'm also wondering if they ran tire continously or let them cool between runs. But having said this I dont doubt they ran behind R compound slicks. Also there arent many R compounds I would drive on the street like the Yokohamas. |
