I'm not sure about you, but I've been looking around at the cost and availability of engine compartment seals, and I'm amazed at how expensive these are. Mine were all baked off from a fire, and I must replace all.
I can make these, but to break even on the die I need to find 40 people that would buy them at $50. I might just have them made if there is enough serious interest. I'm not sure that there's that much interest, that's why I thought I might post this to see. Also as I understand there are 2 different seals I above the engine, and the other 3 sides are the same. If all 4 are the same the cost would be significantly less as only one die would be required. I'm not looking to get rich, I just want to get some parts at a more reasonable cost. -Mark |

The rear seal sure looks close in shape to that used on a VW Bug (old Bugs) U think one would work, although you might need two for the full length.
Question on the reproduction seals, what material will they be made out of? some rubbers survive the motor bay enviroment much better than others. Which rubber do you plan on using? |
