I don't work on commercial aircraft (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif) ), but the main purpose of fly-by-wire control in fighter aircraft is because they're inherently unstable designs. No chance of a fighter pilot keeping it under control without it. Not so with commercial aircraft. So I'm with Larry on this one, total FBW control is a bad idea.
