Couldn't believe it.
While driving to work, it passed me in the exit lane on I-4. I bet it has been 2 years since I've seen one on the street without it being at some event. I grabbed my camera like an idiot. Like I was going to take a picture of a stock 914 driving down the road. Paul |

QUOTE(URY914 @ Jul 27 2003, 04:00 AM) A 914 in a museum? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) What kind of museum? Have any pictures? Paul Yea, it was in a classic car museum. I use the term "museum" lightly though. Actually, I thought about buying the car, but it was just not streetable with any level of comfort. It was a 72, 2.0 with a sideshifter, mechanically it was really tight. It was torch red, and EVERYTHING was painted, even the black bumper tops. Markers and signals were shaved, lowered 2 or 3 inches.. REALLY LOW. Had EMPI aluminum rims, slicks, the whole front windshield was removed, smoothed, and had a customn dash, kinda like a 356 with a plexiglas windshield. The rear pillar was removed, and only a tubular rollbar remained. EVERYTHING that wasn't absolutely necesary to make the car run was removed for weight reduction. Lots of holes where stuff used to be, no carpet, nada. The car was posted on Auto trader.com for a LONG time. You would remember it. The owner actually called me recently, telling me he'd sell it for even less that I originally thought it was worth ($6000). If you're interested, e-mail me, and I'll give you his #. I deleted his pics, but I'm sure he'll sendf them to you if you want. |
