I think I am about to lose another motor....
Valves were adjusted what.. 2 weeks ago, less even, and now it sounds like thumbing a hair comb, when you come off idle thru 1200-1300.. or thereabouts. I am beat. I can't make anything fail the same twice, and never on a meter.. last night I was sure I nailed down a CHT problem, today, it's fine. (should be.. it's new) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) Thing was tuned up 2 weeks ago, and ran for about 60 minutes since that time, without incident, otherwise.. 3 motors, would that be a 20k record? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) I have put up in the 150k range, on more than one. I see some liquor coming, when I scrape these 9 dimes together. Can you pull all of your rockers off, then put a straightedge across all of the valves on each head? That way you can see if you're dropping a seat.
Then you can troubleshoot from there. Also, you're running stock 2.0L rockers, right? Maybe swap over to the early 1.7L rockers and 911 adjusters. Should be a fairly easy in-car swap over... Tom |
