I went down to the Historics today to have a look around. There were no open wheel cars this year - butplenty of sportcars. Many, many Chevrons, mainly B19s but a great array of FIA GTs, including 6 GT40s running, a 904 and two 906s.
There was an IMSA group with half a dozen 935s and a single 914. This was running against the 935s so it was somewhat outclassed with a mere 2.4 engine. It was the Altec Lansing car. It last ran in 1979 in Cerwin Wega! colors. It has been stored ever since and hasn't been restored. Attached image(s) ![]() |

I also drove past the exit of one of the concours events and saw *hundreds* of Ferraris, but also a McLaren F1 (on the road) and loads of Panteras and other stuff. Bruce Canepa had a street legal 959 at Laguna Seca along with a DTM Mercedes and some other stuff.
All in all a VERY cool day. BTW, the 914/6 and 935s will be running again on Sunday Richard |
