Going through my parts pile, I've found what I think are complete (but only partly assembled) carb setups for both Dual Webbers (40 IDF) and a single Holley (don't know what model...how do I tell? There's a "D-3" on the side).
Purchased the parts with a non-running '73 a few months ago along with both trunks full of extra bits and parts. Which would you suggest I use? Which is more reliable? What is the Holley better at? What are the Webbers better at? It'll be going on a 1.7 and I'm not going to be racing it or anything, so an extra coupla HP is less important to me than reliability and availability of replacement parts. But a few extra horsepower are always welcome! The way they look, I'll need to get a kit to rebuild either setup, so I need to know which one to go for before I buy the kit. What do you think? Thanks in advance!! |

Without checking my book, I think the HolleyD3 is a 34 Idf made under license. Not much in the performance department, but will reach 35 mpg. The Dual 40's would be a better choice.
