Who has installed a wing on their 914 and how did you do it? Can the uprights be mounted outboard of the trunk lid? Any experience with the wings offered by GT Racing? I am talking about a functional wing 72" wide, not a cosmetic one. I would like to access my trunk where the battery and my ignition modules live without disassembling the wing to get there (the trunk lid is a lift-off FG and not hinged). TIA.

Thanks, Bill and to all who responded. It sounds like you are pleased with the performance of the GT Racing wing. I cound not find any details about the specific performance numbers like efficiency, drag, etc. In fact I could not find many other sources for wings. Anybody have more sources? On fast tracks like Willow Springs I find that I am dancing around a lot particularly in turns 8 and 2. How much straght line speed do you give up when you install a wing? I want to break the 1:30 barrier at Willow and think I need a wing to do it. |
