I am very excited about my first DE on the BIG TRACK! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/boldblue.gif)

Looking for advice, experiences and words of encouragement as I knowingly go headfirst towards the darkside (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif)

Anybody else going?

It's a lot like a giant autoX. Bring lots of water, lots of sunscreen, bring your wet-weather gear, and so on.

The airport diner just off the freeway is outstanding if you like diner-type food. Not that expensive, either!

Flush your brake fluid. No, now--I don't care if you did it last month, it's now too old! You want absolutely fresh fluid, so you still have brakes at the end of a 20-minute run group. Install fresh pads, too. The extra thickness is extra insulation, keeping more of the heat out of your brake fluid. (Guess who boiled his brake fluid his first time out at Thunder Hill?)

Drive within your limits. Don't be too afraid to push them, but remember--there are one or two walls out there...

Remember to keep checking your mirrors! Even if you don't see a blue flag, it's still good to know if someone is back there at all.
