All aluminum, good power and reliable....pretty cheap as well since about the only market for them is for replacements or sandrails.
A few sites with some good reading about them: C and G Performance and Funco sandrails I know Kennedy Engineering makes an adapter plate and flywheel for it as well and unlike most Honda 4 bangers, they turn the correct direction (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) (IMG:http://www.cgperformance.com/images/CG%20honda%20engine%20WP.jpg) |

Mike: sounds like a great idea, You know I have a Buick V6, lots of power, but it is heavy, all cast iron. An aluminum V6 would be better.
One thing I would ask is vibration issues with a V6, the Buick is not that smooth at certain rpms. even Buick cars had this issue, but it can be worse when the motor mounting is changed (change in motor mount stiffness in certain directions) You might run into this, then again, I think some of them fancy japanese V6's have counter shafts to help smooth them out, If that is the case, you probably wont have the V6 vibration issues. as far as fit, I have now idea on it size. what knid of HP and torque do you expect from these engines? I still really like the idea of a subaru however (although the subaru engine is more pricey) just becuase it is a flat motor. i have heard rumors of folks intaling radiaotrs int eh engine bay, I thnk with teh low profile subaru. An engine bay radiator is nice, as it avoids lots of fabbing. any one have a photo of one of these set ups? |
