Earlier today the brakes were fine, engaging about halfway down the pedal, then I practically had to push the pedal to the wall to get brakeage. Is there a short answer for this? I can get the car to slow, but only after I'm pushing all the way down. It's a 1970 914. Thx! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

Check for leaks, and check the reservoir fluid level first. Did you try pumping the brake pedal?
Leaks can be in any line or hose, and could be coming from the back of the master cylinder where it enters the pedal cluster box at your feet. Let us know what you find, then we can direct you further. |
