Actually, the "009" that we're discussing was originally designed for, and installed on, industrial engines which generally run at a single steady RPM. Their short advance curve allows them to be easily started and they reach full operating RPM and advance early. Performance in between idle and operating speed is of no consequence, nor are emissions levels. The dreaded "flat spot" is meaningless on an industrial engine. The Cap'n |
