Results from the Southern Contingent gathering yielded some interesting things....
I bought these carbs from a guy in Germany who sold them on the Bay to me. The ad stated these where from his 914 that he had owned since new. The car was long gone but he ran across the carbs in his attic. Well the test mule fired up after Clay schooled me on valve adjustments. No smoke , no knock, no BIG oil leaks, couple of small exhaust leaks. So experts....are these in fact FACTORY 914 Porsche carbs? Congratualtions! You now have a 72 Bus motor! Wait until the carbs have about 5 miles on them and the throttle plates are worn out. No, you can't buy them any more. They all sold out when the Busses were a few months out of warranty. I can probably supply an air filter assembly. The Cap'n
