Hi all,
One of the arms on my door flapper is broken, so I'm planning to replace it. How exactly do you do it? It looks like the flapper is riveted on to the handle. So, do I just drill out the old rivets and... what? They look like pretty big rivets. Can I find something like that? Will something else work? How is this done? Thanks in advance, |

No problem. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) You'll need to grind/file the head of the pin off. If your flapper is already broken you don't need to be so careful. Drive the pin out and make sure that spring doesn't fly across the room. When you reinstall the pin in the handle make sure you are putting it back in from the "top" of the handle. This way the pin won't work its way out of the handle. BTW, getting the spring/flapper/pin all back together is the by far the biggest part of the job. Also, a right flapper will not work on a left handle. Good luck, PM me if you need to. Paul |
