I have been looking at getting a Mahle p/c set, but right now, I "think" I'm just shopping.

For the un-initiated...

QSC is in Taiwan.
They make MANY products for MANY of the US manufacturers.

Cept you aren't supposed to know about it..........

LIKE: Scat, Kennedy, CB and many others.

They make flywheels, clutches, pressure plates, pistons, cylinders, exhausts and more for the air cooled industry among others.

If there product has been around for a while and the retailer has forced them to make a good product.

The quality of their products range from very good to SHIT.

The problem with QSC is that they clone an existing factory or aftermarket HiPo part and screw up the details.

let me give you an example.

They tried to clone a J&E piston.

From the outside it looked very nice. from the inside, when cut in half...

They forgot all kinds of tie in points and saddle material.

How did they screw that up????????

They never thought to cut it in half and see how it was built.

They miss all the fine points.
They are pretty good machinist. Yet they have no fuching clue how something works. Hence NO R&D. Therefore, crap products at times.

They can can build to a design pretty well. Or clone based on how it measures up externally. (Not internaly)

I have seen there prototype work.. it sucks.

BUT........ If they have been making a particular product for a while. (like P&Cs)

Usually the distributor has given them enough grief from all the returned merchandise that exloded........... that they eventually get it right.
In part... On your dollar..... Or the next guys......... Thats biz folks.......

These are the same guys that made the CAST Nikasil cylinders
(Not Ham Inc) that were on the market for a few months.. Now gone apparently. (I have a set)

Their P&Cs are ok..... for a stocker. They have been making those for a long time.

Some of their pistons WERE problamatic as several of the ones my machinist tested had the improper dwell for an air cooled engine. (dwell = ovality) Pistons skirts ain't supposed to be exactly round.

My 2 cents is... use em for a stocker if ya ain't goit enough money for Mahles or better....

For a racer... Fugetaboutit........

This is my take on them. your information may be differant.
