I did a search for this scenario and didn't find anything.

So, I'm driving home from work. Sitting at an intersection, the car goes dead, absolutely no electrical power. Would not start, no radio, nothing. I pulled the emergency flasher to warn traffic I was down, nothing, great. I start to get out of the car, the flasher starts. I jump back in the car starts right up. I drove for a few more miles and it happened again, while moving. I coast to a side street out of the way, car starts right back up.

It's a 76, any ideas??

The only thing that occurs to me is the ignition switch.

Just wait a few hours.

You will get a bunch of responses to this.

And I talked to Dr.Evil. He said same as me...

By the way. Did you check where the battery ground goes to the body?

Are you positve it is making a VERY GOOD connection? No rust behind the washer and bolt?

It's clean and rust free.
