Since a couple of people have asked I've decided to add some pics and dimensions of a rotisserie you can build for probably under 100 bucks! I'm sure it will hold at least 2500 lbs with the thickness of metal used but I wouldn't go any heavier than that, also the weight is what you and a couple of buddies can lift overcenter by hand. The only drawback is since the suspension is part of the rotisserie so you can only take one side apart at a time!!!
My CAD program crashed so I had to use MS paint!! Ha (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) Attached image(s) |

I've been thinking about this and my only concern is you asking the suspension to hold the weight of the car in a manner that is wasn't designed. You're kinda side loading things. Now maybe removing the engine and tranny will help the situation by reducing the weight. Just something to think about and look out for. I would check those trailing arms and the mounts for possible bending.
But all in all its great thinking. Were is eveyone else on this??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |
