The first time I remember seeing one was in 1972. I was stationed at Chanute AFB in IL. I remember saying this was such a cool car and then I saw the word "Porsche" across the grill! I was sold. It only took me another 33 years or so to buy one (but now I have two 914s and 1 Boxster).
