how do i change the shift bushings in/on the shift rod from my 72 i have the back half of the rod removed and do not see any of the bushings. On the end of the trans by the tail shift rod is a bracket that bolts on, your shift rod passes thru it right at the rear of the car, one goes there. QUOTE how do i remove the front half? I don't think I did to replace it, I think I just worked it around that 90 degree pivot off and on. QUOTE and how do i change the balls and the ball socket on the bottom of the shifter? -jim The nylon socket just pops off of the ball at the end of the shifter. I removed the ball on the shifter to put on a quick shift kit, I used mapp gas to heat it up and it tapped off. You will epoxy the new one on. |
