how do i change the shift bushings in/on the shift rod from my 72?

i have the back half of the rod removed and do not see any of the bushings.

how do i remove the front half?

and how do i change the balls and the ball socket on the bottom of the shifter?

so that's why my shifter has slop- it has no bushing there at all!!!

On the end of the trans by the tail shift rod is a bracket that bolts on, your shift rod passes thru it right at the rear of the car, one goes there.
