how do i change the shift bushings in/on the shift rod from my 72?
i have the back half of the rod removed and do not see any of the bushings. how do i remove the front half? and how do i change the balls and the ball socket on the bottom of the shifter? -jim |

epoxy like jb weld or what?
so you used MAPP to heat the plastic balls? then tapped them off? thanks for the help -jim |

I have balls of steel...well thats what they say. I thought you were taking about the ball at the bottom of the shifter, that is steel. The cup that fits over it and slips into another cup at the beginning of the shifter rod is plastic. Any industrial epoxy should work, JB? should work. |
