I got this 76 from Rob Watson. It will be my driveable resto for a while to come. I drove it at 80mph (70 actual with my smaller tires) for about 2 hours to get it home with the wife following me. There were a couple small sputters on the way home, but the engine just purrrrrred along at about 3300rpm. ( I even got my first smile and head nod from a biker passing me on the highway) When we got it home there was a light speckeling (sp?) of oil over the front of my wife's car car, and so far I have only found a little rust damage behind the seats in the corners. Here are the pics of my new baby.

Thanks for the support. I got under her and wiped her down with about half a roll of paper towles and then ran her for a couple minutes and found oil dripping frm just inboard of the oil filter, and down the oil filter. The oil cooler is covered in oil also, but I can't tell if that is from a leak associated with it or if that is just from it being sprayed by the leak that is covering the oil filter. Other than replacing the oil filter to make sure it is seated properly, is there anything else I should check/replace while I have the filter removed?
Also, could someone tell me (in post #4 pic) what that wire is that comes out of the firewall just above the clutch cable? It seems to have some kind of small probe attache to the end that can be seen just at the upper right of the pic. Thanks, Jim |
