do you guys see any problems relocating the battery to trunk temporarily because of dead battery box? I will splice the terminal cables and extend them with extra terminals into the trunk. Any problems with that? Is only temporary, have any of you ever done that?

He'll have to give you the details. I think it is the one nearest the filler. On a stock six with carbs it goes to the air cleaner to allow the oil vapor to be sucked through the intake. Vented to the ground or engine compartment can create a bit of a mess.
