I have been being hounded by my homeowners asso. for about 5 months and got a letter full of more lies etc. Well I was just tighten up my rear tires lug nuts and a week later when I try to remove the wheel the aluminum (5 lug car) lugs (2) just brake off leaving a stub holding the wheel on.... Ha Ha Ha (IMG:style_emoticons/default/alfred.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) I guess I didn't use a torque wrench (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ar15.gif)

I'm sorry... Fines?

I've heard that HOAs can be a pain in the ass. Don't you already pay a yearly fee to get jacked around? Who enforces the fines?

I guess it's tort law in effect with contracts.

Was looking at a place SE of OKC here. 20 Acres, 6300 sq ft house / barracks thing, $95k. Sorta reminds me a mini Koresh Compound.. Except I wouldn't have 12 year old mistresses. Certainly wouldn't have a HOA out there.

If I ever move to a place with a HOA, there'd probably be a damn good reason, and my first action would be to see if I can get on the committee. Are the letters / fines for something objective in the agreement, or a more subjective thing? If the latter, I wonder if you have recourse calling a meeting and fighting it. (No clue if those things are democratic or what)

Good luck with whatever route you pick.
