I had the car up on a lift Friday looking to see if there were spots marked on the sheetmetel where the holes for the early bumpers would be located. I did't have a dogbone handy at the time, but it looked like there are slight indents at the far ends.
I read over both bumper install threads and didn't see a reference to this. Any information will be appreciated-- front and back. Attached image(s) ![]() |

Jim Just a couple of thoughts. When you take your bumpers in for rechroming, have them fill the hole in the rear bumper. The screw mount is non existnet on the 75-76 bodies. And if you can get away with it fill the front lic. plate bracket holes.

And if you can get away with it fill the front lic. plate bracket holes. CCL Is all re-chroming pretty much the same process. Is there anything in particular one should be sure the process includes. Both bumpers are in good condition, one has a small ding, the other is shedding some chrome. Ss picture below. Most of the places I have been to sub out the chrome work to place outside my immediate area. Got the studs...read your thread. Attached image(s) ![]() |
