The Barrett Jackson was just a little ol' car auction before Speed Channel started airing it. The first time I went, it was 3 days and the most expensive day was like $15. The last time I went (about 2 years ago), I think the most expensive day was $45 and the whole thing lasted 4 or 5 days. Now, I think the most expensive day is $55 and the whole event is up to 8 days?
Speed TV and Craig Jackson have single handedly changed the collector car hobby for better or worse. There are like 3 other auctions in town at the same time. The R&M at the Arizona Biltmore specializes more in the high end European stuff. Russo and Steele are kind of like BJ, before Speed TV got involved. |
