many VW buses with type IVs have a plastic fan guard on the inlet for the engine fan, the 914 fan house will accept this screen. This will help prevent leaves, rags, bits ot tape and other engine bay junk from getting sucked into your cooling system.
this is good insurance for an optimal cooling system operation. it is amazing how much junk collects on the heads and cylinder fins under the tin, all sucked in by the uncovered 914 fan. see your local wrecking yard for the screen. why they was left off the 914 I dont know, a cost cutting measure I assume? |
