I was complaining about shifting issues a while back:
http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=97743 My previous firewall bushing looked fine. Appeared new, no wobbles or hang-ups, so it was at the bottom of my investigation list. However, once the bushing was removed it was obviously not installed properly and warn in a bad way. I just replace the firewall bushing with: http://www.tangerineracing.com/transmission.htm#Firewall Shift Rod Bearing Highly recommended! What a major improvement! Still have trouble with 1st gear one out of ten stops - but it's much better - I'm happy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Well, I was for a day. Engine appears to be leaking oil from a cylinder gasket now ... so the car is back on jacks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif) |
