I've been driving my car for a few months now, and after driving over to Santa Rosa today, I gotta say that ol' 1.7 isn't a shabby engine. Sure, it doesn't throw you back in the seat. But I wouldn't call it slow and I certainly wouldn't pass on a good running car just because it was a 1.7.

Probably not sharing anything new, but I haven't seen a lot of posts that support the 1.7/1.8.
