How hot should the gear be to fit on the crank?
I have a staight cut gear, the ID matches the OEM gear. I froze the crank in the freezer, and put the gear in the oven. Didn't work The crappy manual says 80 C or 176 F which seems too low? I tried 200 F. I tried it again at 300 F. Do I have to press it on a hydraulic press? It's a 66mm 1.8 crank. Also, the chamfered side goes towards the #3 bearing? |
