My 76 914 was not originally equipped with fog lights, so I don't have a fog light switch. I would like to add fog or driving lights. I do have a rear window heater/defogger switch taken from a 914 parts car. The Porsche 914 PET indicates that the switch is the same for front fog lights, rear fog lights, and rear window heater, so I should be okay with this switch.
This rear window heater/defogger switch has a green illuminated face with a white spiral/curlicue symbol, I guess to represent the electric resistance heater grid in the rear window. The front fog light switch had a yellow illuminated face with a fog light symbol, I think. I know these switch faces or caps (per the PET) are removable and interchangeable by stretching the rubber collars on the switch knobs. Is there a source for these switch faces, or am I stuck with the rear window defogger symbol? I do have a spare headlight switch assembly that I could use for a donor and maybe use the switch face from it and possible tint it yellow. Suggestions are welcome. Thanks. |
