Hi,
The PO installed 100W H4's and a heavy duty VAG relay in this 1974 914 2.0 project. I have read through the threads here, but still do not have anything definitive as far as adding relays, how many, and recommendations as to what kind. Perhaps the easiest thing to do is drop to a 55W / 60W H4 with a heavy duty relay....but...... The PO put in a 16 amp fuse in the #1 position - left low I believe. With a stock relay - it blows. The HD VAG - with 8amp - it blows. The 16 amp works fine. If I were to keep the 100w bulbs - should I set up relays on each low beam circuit? Does anyone have a recommendation of a relay? Hella? Should a 25amp duty relay be safe? Also - the high beam indicator is not lit with the HD relay in place. The bulb is good - socket checks. The hi beams do switch. Perhaps a Tachometer grounding issue? Any other ideas? Thanks - this board is great and has been extremely helpful to this new owner! Frank |
