Well we are underway with the install of the 3 rotor into the 914. The bare block is about 26 inches long - almost identical to the LS1 block that is in my friends garage. He is concerned about access to the belts and with the overall length of the assembly and suggested cutting an access panel in the firewall. He said it's either that or move the transmission back an inch which would put the alignment of the drive axles out of perfect alignment.

So what do you guys do? What did the guys with V8's do? Any advice?
