Ok to start off it is a 73 1.7 D-Jet. I was doing a vacuum line/hose replacement job and I'm down to two left. They are to the left of the oil filler cap. Looking from the back of the car facing the front. It is close to the shroud housing where it T's off. I have one hose that comes off and goes to the left side and goes down in I guess the block of the engine and the other goes over to the right. Roughly the same spot on each side. I pulled these off. Very brittle and I had some caramel colored fluid that had spilled out. I was very concerned about this. Both are 1/2 inch(13mm) lines. What would the color and or liquid be from? I can take pictures in the morning if it would help at all.
