We have a new Famous Daves BBQ joint here in town and I was wondering if anyone has ever sampled their food?

Good?

Bad?

Had a slab of ribs last night! It was good. The sauce is a touch spicy but overall good.

I'll go back.

For a chain BBQ joint, its pretty good ... of course if you know of a good mom and pop BBQ joint (especially if its in a bad neighborhood) its probably better than Famous Dave's.

Its no Arthur Bryant's or Neely's but still worth a trip (especially since being in the PRK you'd have to fly to ether of those).

it was ok, but the guy that was licking his finger and then touching the sauce despenser back to his spit stained finger will make me think twice about using the stuff on the table

I agree, it's one of the best chain BBQ joints around.

But I would thing better of them if the name was Crazy Dave's BBQ rather than Famous Dave's (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

About a year ago we got one in Redlands CA and it is good stuff there are like 6 different types of BBQ sauce you can use ..or mix. . i would say definitely give it a try.

in some areas you can buy the BBQ sauce in the grocery stores..

i've been there a bunch (i think they started here in minneapolis).
the blues club is cool.
i don't like the corn, but i love the pulled pork and corn bread.

it's worth at least 1 visit for anyone.

When I want awesome, juicy, tender meat, I fire up my smoker. Smoking three whole chickens right now for a party tonight. Never have I been to a bbq joint that compares to what I smoke. My smoked hams litterally fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. Buy a good smoker, and experience real bbq.

i second this....

i won't buy bbq anymore. i have been smoking my own ribs, shoulders etc.. for years and would never look back. buy a smoker and try real bbq for a LOT less than the chain places.....

cheers,

scott

Famous Dave is to BBQ as TGI Fridays is to haute cuisine.... Its a nation wide chain BBQ joint.... the food is just "OK"

In my travels to the SE United States, I've found some amazing BBQ joints in South Carolina, Georgia etc... some little shacks by the side of the road....

I dont think your meal will be bad at Famous Daves...its just corporate BBQ...

We have a Famous Dave's here in Champaign IL. It's okay but my local favorite is Lil' Porgy's.
