I'm looking for an online paint chip chart to match up a couple of colors for my ultra secret project car... (flash back to Porsche Porno). Does someone have a link to an online resource with the factory paint chips displayed?

Thanks!
Mike

McMark also has one with links to photos of cars of that color.

Note that colors you will see on your monitor from a website are only vaguely related to the actual colors of the paint. There are about twenty different steps along the way for errors to creep in, and they can add up to significant differences. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

But it's better than nothing!!

A scanned color chip is still better then me going, Hmmm I guess that RAL3001 looks like the right red... Hope to see you at the ECR this year Dave!

If you're still undecided at that point, ping me and remind me to find my 74 paint chip flyer. Has the colors for both the 911 and 914. (Missing one color that did come on the 914s that year, though!!)

Wow I knew I had seen one out there and recalling it was Chuxters page. I like McMarks also the paint chip site is cool but a little limited. I've used it in the past to buy touch up for my daily drivers. Stay tuned for an update on my naked 914 as I narrow down the colors....

Thanks again!!

how would Gaurd's red compare in color to scarlet red and bahia red? same as one of them? in between? I know guard's red isn't stock, but I'm trying to figure out what color my paint is... the code is signal orange... I wish the PO would have left it... I think... but I'm going to need some touch ups...

The VW colors listed above and the 914 colors definitely overlap, but there are colors listed there that were not stock 914 colors and there are stock 914 colors that are not listed on that page.

Guards Red is a slightly orange red. The stock 914 reds were less orange, somewhat more blue. (No, not purple. Just a small blue tinge rather than the orange one in the Guards Red.)

hmm I don't know then... I can't say this really has an orange tint or not(probably does), but I def. don't see a blue tint... it's just VERY redprobably what every they had extra of that day... I thought about asking a paint shop to try and match the taillights and rear reflector(just got it, haven't installed) where the tail lights would be more stealth... similar to the 350Z red... on that car you barely see the lights until they come on..
