Good on your Tim. I've known Jim through this forum along time. He doesn't like drama. I was fortunate to meet him once at one of the RRC events. He was frail and did his best to keep up with us crazies all weekend. Jim is a nice gentle guy with some serious health and personal issues. As bad as things got he still picked himself up, put his shoes on and worked to make it to better days ahead. I would give him a pass on this. Sounds like in selling the business he expected the back order to be filled as part of the sale. Something got lost somewhere along the way.

Anyway, Thanks for taking care of my friend.

Tim, If you here from Jim tell him I'm thinking about him and hope he is well.

So far these are the members who paid for an emblem before APgirl took over the business.

*B2524 (Jim is mailing yours tomorrow!)

I'm still trying to hunt down the others. If you know of these others, please PM me.

Tim,

I think you should consider making emblems for new customers. Nobody else is making them at this time. It is a free, open market. See if your uncle is up for the task. You won't get rich with $$$ but you will get rich with friends... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Yup, now that is an enforceable non-compete clause... Anything else is just a chicken scratching in the dirt for bugs.

=-) I am headed to the post office in the morning.

I'd like to say thank you to Tim for helping me finish up with the last of the emblems (that were purchased before any "no compete" clause was signed). I had access to a HAAS VF2 to finish the run of emblems, and lost access after I sold equipment, so thank you Tim for helping me out.

A&P: please stop trying to throw me under the bus. :-) I installed the software on your laptop while you sat next to me on your couch, and I showed you how to draw an emblem. I kept offering to help you, and when Tim stepped up I even asked you who you owed emblems to, and what they were so I could put them in the list and help smooth things over while we got you up and running.

I have no intentions of making anymore emblems, I have full intentions of going to the post office first thing in the morning and shipping everything that is ready. I never intended to not complete any emblems and have been incredibly grateful for Tim for stepping up.

Those listed by Tim earlier are shipping, along with a handful of others, including one to Japan. I am glad to finally be almost finished with this so I can focus on other projects that I owe, because I can't leave anyone hanging.

Hey Jim (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif)

Thanks for posting here. I know that this is a big stress for you. For those of you that posted to give Jim a break, I thank you and agree. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim right before we shot the transmission DVD, which he is in the beginning of as Igor. He is a stand up guy that very much wants to do right by everybody, even despite himself. However, life and health, as mentioned, are issues the give him very unique and unavoidable obstacles. When he came out here it was with the intention that he would start rebuilding transmissions as a way to stave off poverty and support his family. He was reasonable enough to realize that the heavy lifting and time it takes to do rebuilds were more than he could commit to as he was fairly sure he would not be able to deliver. The trip was far from a waste as I got to know a very kind, quiet, good person. Also, due to his Crohn's, he is able to make ME gag when he farts. He is truly amazing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Tim, great job.
Jim, I hope things get better with your health..

A&P girl.
There would be no way to enforce a non-compete on previously trademarked artwork.
It is still an open market, and most likely still in violation of the patent and trademark that Porsche holds.
The Big dog does and will come down on anyone who is out there selling logos, using the name etc.

Many firms have felt this pain...none have won the battle against VW/Porsche.

Thankfully, they dont watch the 914 business as much as the 911 and VW business.
