I'm having "issues" with my 1.8 injectors currently on my normally asperated 1.8 (rebuilt, but odd spray patterns)

I'd like to replace the injectors with good injectors with known flow rates......once I add bolt on the turbocharger, the stock 1.8 injectors will not have enough flow for my needs so I figured I might as well kill two birds with one stone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Are new 2.0 injectors available and if so, what should I expect to pay for them?

What about getting used 2.0 injectors and sending them to a fuel injection specialist??

Cost of service I should expect to pay??

thanks

I don't have the name hear at work but a search might turn up a reply of mine on another thread.

I paid $11/injector to have them cleaned. He does a perfromance test before and after and will send you a nice printout of the results. He replaces the small screen and the tip.

Having my injectors cleaned was the best thing I have done to my stocky 2.0L engine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

On the another note...My understanding is L-jet injectors will NOT work in a D-jet system.

Cheers and e-mail me if you can't find the old thread (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Since you are running a megasquirt - you have the option of running just about any high impedance injector with no problems what-so-ever. You may also consider a set of pick-n-pull injectors off of any Subaru - and you shouldn't have too much of a problem looking up the flow rate. As an alternative - you could order a new set of injectors from a subaru motor.

I sent my 2.0 injectors and TB to EBS Racing last week, haven't heard back yet, but they clean and calibrate injectors;

having TB mating body to plenum resurfaced and throttle shaft re-bushed.

We need to find out who EBS is using to clean the injectors... they are mostly a parts house like PP/PP/GPR. I would be amazed if Don and gang up there actually do in-house injector cleaning.

Mike,

Isnt that who did the 1.8 injectors ?

no idea who rebuilt the 1.8 injectors, they came in somewhat generic boxes with no documentation....new hoses and plastic caps on covering the inlets....I think I bought them like 2 or 3 years ago...

I'm looking at the Bosch injectors from the Mustang 5.0 or newer, dirt cheap (for a brand new injector that is) and widely available.

Adapters would have to be made, but that is no big deal, I'm going to pick up a few to play with.

Mike, I think one problem with running 2.0 injectors on the 1.8 BEFORE you fit the turbo will be getting MS to handle the necessarily tiny pulsewidths at idle. The 2.0 injectors are so large the idle pulsewidths are very near (or even below) the stock MS resolution, making a good idle very hard to achieve. You may have to use the "high resolution" MS code rather than the off-the-shelf code. This may, in fact, even be true w/ the turbo, since you're idling off-boost, and will still need basically the same pulsewidths.
