Can you imagine how long it would take to drain the tank though without disconnecting the hoses? It would be painful. I use -12 on my feed lines with a union and remove one line. I am not sure on the drain at this point. So @krieger does how long does it take to drain though this? As for me I’m willing to give it a shot if this goes forward. Pete |

Definitely recommend doing this in terms of the time saving and preventing the risk of putting any stress on the weld to the engine oil coller in removing the pipes (which was my previous experience). Mine's a 3.2 with a termostat to the front cooler, but pics show the old set up (with annotations) and new set up with the 3 way ball valve installed (threaded brass plug to the drain hole is not shown as fitted in photo but obv. should be) on the line to the engine cooler. Only issue too with a front oil cooler, as per this set up, is that you can never fully drain the system towards the front, not an issue with regular oil changes. @Biggles Sorry to get off topic, but what heat exchangers are you using there? That looks very slick and custom! Thanks! |

I'm revaluating my setup as well. Single AN16 hose between the bottom of the tank and the engine makes oil changes a pain. Now that the 45 fitting at the bottom of tank is leaking I can't procrastinate any longer.
Has anyone considered plumbing a Fumoto style valve into the system using a T? I haven't had time to research these but they look promising. Mike |

Pete I have never timed it, but it is pretty quick if your oil is warm. |

I could do them very easily. I have a hundred 30mm fittings still Ben, I want naming rights. Maybe "Krieger easy dump" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) @mb11 |

I'm going to try the NPT option first, since I have AN16 lines

I purchased these off ebay. On my car -16. I accidentally made the line too short so used two to make up space. Has 1/8" npt plug to drain, works well to drain oil.

How hard was it to get KED clocked? In may case I might need to find a different way to hang the hoses as the dump would be in the support hole. Man that sounds even more wrong... I haven't noticed this support on any other cars. Was it added to mine or?? The Krieger Easy Dump is easily clocked when you install! Hold the Krieger Easy Dump so the drain hole is facing down then install one hose at a time. Tighten the fitting on the hose while maintaining the position of the Krieger Easy Dump. I use an aluminum washer from the valve covers to seal. Safety wire and your ready to go until your next planned dump! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Not sure where / how it would package on the 914-6 though. It should be in a somewhat protected area. |

I looked into it myself- and if they made a T that didn't require adapters I might consider it- but I couldn't find one. P |

This is basically what I have except I drilled and tapped the fitting for an M6 bolt with an aluminum sealing washer. Drilled the bolt for safety wire. Cheap, safe and works.

I haven't noticed this support on any other cars. Was it added to mine or?? The hanger was/is on the factory sixes. There should be a large rubber grommet around the oil line that sits in the hanger. Open near the top to allow the hose to be removed as I don't think it was large enough for the factory fittings to slide thru. I think I have some pictures around somewhere. Tie wraps are aftermarket... |
