The seat inserts on the real one, and the AA clone, are now a graduated Porsche print, similar to that car, but graduated light, to dark, to light gray.
The original inserts were a bright purple paisley, with honking green, blue, and red accents. MY EYES! The reserved resto material is much more pleasing, and the original stuff says, "I have bell bottoms, and I like crappy music!". M |

headlights attached to the hood ?!? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)
EWE says yes ... as do all the pictures i've seen. i saw a silver 916-esque car on the lot at Brumos as i came through Jax Beach in 1976 picking up my first 914.6 -- it was from a distance and i had no idea how rare they were then, or i'd have gone to look closer. but i was running late, noted it, and motored on ... |

all those cars, originally, were pretty much made to order, for friends of the (Porsche) family and the factory. i think there were almost as many different original interiors as there were cars... |

this is the car from AA. I talked to this guy on the phone about 1.5 years ago. it's a 914-4 conversion car. he got it from AA. it sounds nice but not worth mid 20's or whatever he wants for it now. |

It may be from AA at some point, but it's not the one that was copied near 100%. The one I am talking about is a one owner factory /6, with a transplanted 2.2 euro S motor.
They probably still have pictures up. It has the same inserts as the Gregg car has now, and a perfect ugly leather dash, hanging on like a sharpei skin. Wrinkle pups! LOL! I just read the old thread, same conversation. -old feeble smiley- M |

And Peter Gregg isn't around to verify the story. How convnient. No key on left "because they wanted a steering lock"? Excuse me? The Cap'n, who thought he'd seen it all .........................................

I think a rather strange thing is that they actually went to the trouble to remount the side marker lights, rather than elimnate them all together.
