why hasn't anyone said it yet?

Lose the dust shield! It's mostly just to keep slush and crap off the rotors, but, correct my if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look like you drive that thing in bad weather.

The shield traps heat and radiates it back at the rotor. If you want to get air to the rotor, let the damn thing breathe!

It's only 4 bolts and will have a much greater net effect than your elbows (cheaper too!)

Someone should hook up a long straw to the dash that vents into the brakes, so when you feel brake fade you blow really hard and cool down the brakes.

I've you've got zero issues, why are you messing with it?

Oh, because you OWN a 914.... I forget these things. I really don't own one, I just look at it in the garage.

Get your dryer ducting stuff, loose the elbow and ziptie the ducting to the a-arm.

Not sure how you want to attach the ducting to the air dam though. If you could epoxy some tabs onto the back of the dam, around the circumference of the holes, you could secure the ducting to that.

Ok, so it's not $2, but it would probably pass tech better that way. If I were tech'ing your car, I'd fail it and make you take the elbows off.

I can "shoot" the rotor temps through the wheels after each session.

I know that they were approaching 465° last time.
It'll be fun to see if they run cooler.

If you want better front brake cooling try this. All you need is a piece of sheet metal and some tin snips or you can buy one from Performance Products.

Front Brake Air Deflector Plate p/n 910090.

Or read this tech article on the SDRPCA website

If you make your own, you can stay under the $2 limit.

Ah, but unless you are really fast and "Johnny on the Spot", you will not have an accurate temp as they will cool on your way to a safe area to "shoot" them.
