Just goes to prove my theory...


Rally is just AX with trees and rocks for pylons. But the penalty for hitting a "pylon" is a bit more that 2 seconds.......

I love watching rally. I often wonder how it is that the driver and navigator arn't flat out killed in many of the wrecks that they get into.

surely some where in that vid... some spectators where hurt badly or killed. i found nothing amusing about that part of it!
some crashes where pretty cool, though.

Cool Vid, thought it was interesting about half way thru. The guy who let go of the wheel and grabbed his seat with his hand. I've heard of guys breaking wrists trying to hold on after you've reached the point where "You're just a passenger".

Well, this year rally kinda took a nose dive. WRC went "super2000" and for this season, only subaru and ford are going to be fielding teams for the WRC.

If you really want to see one, there are usually a few on the left coast each year. Find the WRC website and look up thier scedule. And, um, stay alert when you go...

Subaru has a rally called Rim Of The World that takes place in mountains around here somewhere. .www.rimoftheworldrally.com

SCCA also has road rally events, when, where, Not sure, probably on their web site..

A good rally navigator always holds on to the race map!! In one of the in-car vid multiple roll over crashes the navigator held on to the map book through it all.

The first time I hit an immovablke object in my race car (pit entrance at Nelsons Ledges), I forgot to take my hands off the wheel. Yup, felt like I broke my wrists. The second time it happened at Mid-Ohio, I grabbed my belts.

Like the other post said, it's not if you hit something (or roll), it's when, specially if you are pushing ten thenths in an open wheel car. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)
