Looking for engine builder with track engine building experience? I have a 993 3.6 and wish to build it to a track ready 3.8 RS engine.
I have been talking in detail with Steve @ Rennsport. Any other recommendations from the 914 world garage? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) |

I have Galen stories....he was the one that had this 930 I now have hidden from the owner for over 13 years.....I also know another guy that has had a 930 trans in limbo for 10 years.
Go and get your trans or you'll likely never see it again. |

Thanks for the replys!
I have PM'd Dekman. Anyone else have input? The builder does not have to local, I am willing to truck the engine to wherever. I just want to find an experienced builder with track credibility. |

any details? 4.0 I have heard about this too, but the feedback so far has been that track engines that live at 7k rpm don't like that larger piston mass at those rpms. 4.0 is prolly fine for a street car. I would like to have a bullet proof engine, I am still trying to figure it out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) |

"RS Enterprises" in Ventura,CA. Jason Duarte is the owner. He does excellent work but not cheap. He does all the builds himself and he's usually very busy. Built my 1st motor... 3.0L with cosworth pistons and 46 webers...it screams! He will build my next motor(3.8). ( Address is 249 S. Laurel St., Ventura,CA 93001. Phone# 1-805-643-1041.) Two pic's: Jasons 800hp 962 turbo 911, a shot of my car in for a 915 wevo trans. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif) Pic's of your car? ((PS: I've heard that to....the flat six engines work best with a shorter stroke at high rpm.)

I would say Peter Dawe of Dawes motorsports is one of the best porsche engine builders. He speacializes in 3.6 racing motors. His webpage is www.dawesmotorsports.com He was a crew cheif and engine builder for Roger Penske's 917 in the 70's. Everytime one of his customers cars are at a track they are usually in the lead.
