::shudder::
I went by Tony the Fabricator's shop today to check on my car and he has part of a 962 body resting on it. Normally that would be way cool but except this one is pink. I just didn't like the idea of anything pink humping my car. |

On my car "we" (I supervised, a body shop guy did the real work) did a quick-and-dirty job but a combination of dowels and 2x4's were used IIRC. No baseball bats... This was not only flattening the fender lips but also pulling the fenders out. The implements were not moved much, rather the car was rocked/rolled back and forth, using the tire as a fulcrum point.
It came out pretty decently, keeping in mind this is a track car. On a street car I would definitely do real metalwork like John Kelly's (or JP's) hammer-and-dolly flares, if I were repainting the car anyway. My car had recently been repainted and wasn't/isn't gonna get repsprayed anytime soon... |

Haven't heard back yet, which probably means nothing's happened yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)
I had a dream I was driving my 914 last week... Just out running errands, and I ran into a bunch of 914s on a fun run. I drove with them for a bit, then I was like "Naw, I gotta turn around and get groceries/run errands." Then last night I had a dream of my car all primered and ready for paint. I was so happy I almost cried. I can't wait... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/MDB2.gif) Jen |

QUOTE(red914 @ Mar 14 2004, 04:47 PM) awe inspiring pieces... oh, and add the BAR to the list as well. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) When I was a kid I used to watch Combat on TV. I always remember during the shoot-um-up scenes Sergeant Saunders (Vic Morrow) calling out "Kirby, bring up the B-A-R". You just knew some shit was going to happen then! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) One of those random bits of data that somehow gets permanantly stored I guess! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Mike |

I always feel bad about nagging. Most women tend to nag a lot, and I can't stand it either. I'd hate to turn into one of them. I have good faith in Brandon that my car will be pretty and straight Any Day Now. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
I get feedback from Mark D. every now and then, and that's good enough for me. I'll keep everyone posted on progress as I get more info. Or Mark can feel free to post publicly to the board. Everyone's seen my car at its worst anyway. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Jen |
