GPS said 130mph on the autobahn outside of Kaiserslautern with a stock 76 2.0. It started getting pretty floaty at that speed.

106 in the quarter, in 4th and still a LOT left. I've gone faster but the speedo got to retirement age, so that's the only legitimate number I have.

About 600 knots, BEFORE the pilot let me put the throttle at "Full Military Power". F-100F. Back in the late 60s, that was pretty fast. Now, not so much.

110 on a straight flat in my stock 2.0, confirmd with Zach's GPS. but that motor was tired and is currently being built up to a 2056. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) I also lost half of my windshield trim on that adventure. still looking for replcment trim to this day. at that speed, these cars start comming apart (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) |

109 in my old six conversion (2.7) on the 15 according to one of Nevada's finest in a Z28 Camaro Pursuit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) I was on the coast down at that point, betting I saw better of 120.
Asked me to step out of the vehicle, and put me in his back seat, after paperwork checked out (I had just bought it, expired CA tags and a signed title and my proof of Insurance is all I had) He asked me what I had under the hood, we walked over, and I showed him. He said slow it down a bit and have a good trip, no ticket (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif) |

Speedo showed 125 on the back straight at Watkins Glen just before the bustop. Probably more like 115 but can't prove it. Stock 2.2 /6.

Here it is the trim is gone from the top and drivers side. |

I went 87MPH on GPS (1.8L 40IDF Webers) - the car had more (just a little) in it - my passgenger was white as a sheet - had to back off before he soiled the seat... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stromberg.gif)

The non-GPS speeds are bunk! My yellow car has short gears. Tops out a 104 MPH in Fifth at redline GPS. The speedo indicated something a lot faster (like 125 or something). Plus the car has 205/50/15s. The blue car has the same tires but stock gearing it's already 10mph optimistic at 40.
GPS or it's fake! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

165Mph at Brainerd and 175mph (and still accellerating!) on 35E in St Paul, MN racing crotch rockets. I feel a lot safer on the track at those speeds.

Interesting - according to my gear chart, my car with the current tires and gears is limited to 125. (More like 130 if I actually hit the rev limiter).
However, it should get there hella quickly with the new engine... |

GPS units are for people that don't know where they are going and can't read Maps. T.C. |
