Car is sold now, thanks,

For sale my 1974 2.0 4 cylinder 914, asking $5500 Marietta, GA
I’m selling my 1974 2.0 4 cylinder 914 because I have not been driving it much since having a kid. The pictures make the paint look better than it is, but I tried to show what I think are representative cosmetic flaws. Currently has Megasquirt II fuel injection. I also have the original working stock D-jet. Offering the car first with the Megasquirt still installed to see if there is any interest, otherwise I will re-install the D-jet over the holidays.

I’ve added details of the car’s condition bellow. I performed all of the work myself since I purchased it in 2004 and have receipts for parts installed. I’ve only driven it around 3,000 miles since purchase. I have some records from previous owners indicating the car was originally from California, then moved to Florida and finally Georgia where it is now.

Engine
Have receipts from a stock rebuild in the early ‘80’s, unknown mileage since
Small oil leak from front main seal area, otherwise very dry
Megasquirt II fuel injection system with separate relay board using all stock sensors and injectors
Rebuilt fuel injectors from Pelican Parts
New home made wiring harness for Megasquirt plugs into stock relay board (no stock wires were cut to install Megasquirt)
Dakota Digital cylinder head temperature sensor
Innovate XD-16 guage and wide band oxygen sensor
VDO Oil pressure and temperature gages
Working air conditioning converted to R-134A
Dansk OEM style reproduction muffler and stainless steel heat exchangers
New engine mounts
All engine compartment vacuum and fuel lines replaced

Body
Hell Hole was repaired by a previous owner, still seems solid, battery tray excellent
Small rust bubbles at bottom of sail panels
Passenger side jack point has some rust, longitudinal is solid, driver side is clean
Rust in rear trunk under tail lights repaired by previous owner with bondo
Rear window leaked at one time, rust at rear of floor pans repaired
Engman inner longitudinal stiffening kit installed
Was repainted original chrome yellow in early ‘80’s. Paint is chipping in some areas but is still shiny
Replaced most of the targa top rubber seals
Rebuilt door locks and hinges
New carpets
Hella H4 headlights

New brake pads, rotors, front wheel bearings, 19mm master cylinder, braided lines
Rebuilt calipers

Transmission
Shifts very well, no grinding
New transmission mounts
New shift linkage bushings
New flywheel , pressure plate and clutch
Replaced all external seals so no leaks

Ken

OK, here are some hellhole pictures, first two from hellhole and second from driver side. I found it very difficult to get a picture down there between the AC compressor and the battery. As described in the ad above, the rear window leaked at one time, the rust and epoxy that can be seen is from a metal patch added on the inside of the car that was epoxied in place. The patch is above the hellhole, but its hard to tell from the picture. The hellhole passes the poke test with screwdriver.

Planning to remove the megasquirt in a few weeks and will remove the battery at that time for better pictures.

Nice car. Nearly an exact twin to mine, except my interior is the darker brown and my Mahles are unpainted. And a good price too - very close to what I paid, and mine has a Weber progressive carb, no A/C, and no extra console gauges.
