As before this event would be held in conjunction with GGR/LPR/SVR AX events.

This time around I would like to see it include 914s and Boxsters.
914s, and Boxsters would each have their individual TTODs and then a combined TTOD for the midengined contingent.

This would bring in a huge number of cars/competitors from all around the area, and hopefully from areas further north and south as we did a couple of years ago for the 914 ShootOut.

Ideas and such should be posted here in this thread. Questions welcomed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I will check GGR/LPR/SVR AX schedules as they become available for 2010. I would be shooting for a two day event at either Marina or Alameda...

I hear the Bay Area might see the first AX prepped Boxster to go below the 2000lbs mark pretty soon! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

That, a good driver and sticky tires would put it into TTOD territory ...

He has been working very hard on it. New Guard LSD just installed, and now for some more (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) gutting and such...
I might even be co-driving it for the ShootOut... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) He needs a tire warmer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)

Getting there. Bill C and I put it in 2nd and 4th place overall without an LSD in a 150 car field couple weeks ago. We beat all the Mod and Prepared class cars! We were less than half second off TTOD.

Dan I'm trying to decide who is the tire warmer? We went back and forth in the 914-6.

Almost time to go TTOD 914 hunting. On the right course the car screams. I easily have 150 lbs that can be removed.

Leamon, it would be great if you could make it up with old #22 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Years ago with the hot type 4 in it, it was quite a formidable AX car...Now with the big motor, as long as you could get the power down, it might be tons of fun.

looking at mid June (12, 13) at Alameda...guys on slicks should like the asphalt there vs the cool concrete of Marina in July or August. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cool and interesting at the same time, Any links to more vids or build threads on other forums? I'd be interested to learn more about whatcha got going on there.

Unless its all classified triple top secret.

I'm not very good with build threads. I'm a little ADD that way. But here's basics of the car.

Suspension/wheels & tires:

KW Variant II coilovers
GT3 control arms
GT3 front sway with Tarret links
Tarret Rear bar with end links
15x7 Phonedials with 23x9x15 cantilever slicks

Engine/trans:

Stock 2.5 liter
Metered and flowed injectors
Chinese headers
Cat delete
Steblo race exhaust
Wevo Engine mount
99 Backdated to 98 5 speed and Guard LSD
Wevo Tranny mounts
B&M short shifter
Run 100 octane race gas

FIberglass/CF decklids
Momo steering wheel
Recaro Race seat

TC Design Rear cage

This Boxster is almost completely gutted and weighs about 2300 lbs.

Its about same weight and power as an average 2.7 liter 914-6 that still has interior, but with much better suspension. Amazing thing aboiut Boxster is when it goes below about 2400 lbs it starts to feel a lot more like a 914. It has that quick response and ability to recover more quickly. Boxster street cars really turned me off with slow reactions etc.

Nice work Grant. It looks like from your build sheet that you built an awesome racer. I look forward to watching you run.

Why the race gas if it's a stock 2.5L motor?

I saw some notes about this build and motor over on Jakes site, and wondered the same thing about the race gas...

We ran 100 in Jake's 996 and it made no difference. Maybe if the computer had some learn time it might help.
